Rakesh Saxena M.D.
Rakesh Saxena, MD, is a physician with Prism Primary Care specializing in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He currently welcomes new patients to his offices in Alma and Mt. Pleasant.
“My aim is to serve the community I live in by offering patient-centered care and to maintain long standing and trusting relationships with my patients,” Dr. Saxena stated.
Dr. Saxena received his medical degree from the College of Medical Sciences, Varanasi, India. He served his residency in Internal Medicine at Wayne State University and received special training in gastroenterology at Lehey Clinic in Boston. He is a board certified member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, president of Gratiot Chapter of the Michigan State Medical Society, medical director of the Gratiot County Free Clinic and chairman of Department of Internal Medicine at MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot.
Dr. Saxena and his wife, Dr. Indira Saxena, MD, have 2 grown daughters and have lived in Alma for the past 40 years. In his spare time, he enjoys biking, running and traveling.
Kristina Hug, DNP, NP-C
Kristina Hug, DNP, NP-C is a new addition to Prism Primary Care. Kristina is accepting new patients in Alma and Mt. Pleasant.
Kristina received her Bachelors of Science from Alma College in Exercise and Health Science. She completed her Masters of Science in Nursing- Family Nurse Practitioner, and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Gonzaga University. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Kristina was raised in Alma, Michigan, and is a current resident of Mt. Pleasant, where she resides with her husband and two sons.
Kristina believes in being committed to her patients, she states, “As a primary care provider, my goal is to join the patients in their healthcare journeys, and give every patient the tools they need to be successful in their journey. I plan to walk beside my patients and guide them during the moments they have road blocks. I plan to help guide them in the best quality of life every patient desires. Every patient has a story to tell, every patient has a life to live, and every patient deserves my personal commitment.”
Kristina continued to say, “I will provide education to patients, and their support system as desired, that will allow them to make educated and informed decisions. I have a passion for Advance Care Planning, and wellness initiatives. I’m excited to serve the community that I was raised in!”
Sue Hahn, FNP-C
Sue Hahn, NP-C, is a nurse practitioner with Prism Primary Care specializing in family practice. She currently welcomes new patients to her office in Mt. Pleasant.
“I know that my calling in life professionally is to serve others by caring for their medical needs through a comprehensive approach. I enjoy teaching my patients as much as possible so they can be informed and make the best choices possible in better caring for themselves. One of my passions is helping patients who struggle with weight loss and weight management. Partnering with patients to set and achieve wellness goals through current standards of practice and a bit of ingenuity is both fun and rewarding," Sue stated.
Sue holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University and is certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Sue is an active member of the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners and the board of directors for the Goodrow Fund.
Sue is a life-long Mt. Pleasant resident and has two children. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, shopping, football and spending time with friends and family, as well as seeking out ways to assist those in the community.
Julie Stevens, D.O.-
Julie Stevens DO, is our newest DO with us here Prism Primary Care. She accepting new patients at her office in Mt. Pleasant.
Dr. Julie M. Stevens D.O. is a physician with Prism Primary Care specializing in Family Practice. She is currently accepting new and re-establishing patients at her office in Mount Pleasant.
Dr. Stevens has provided health care to patients in the Mount Pleasant area since 2002. She sees her role as physician as being in partnership with her patients by providing coaching and encouragement to mutually develop the best plan of medical care for each of her patients. In addition to Family Practice, Dr. Stevens has special training and interest in Osteopathic Manipulation (OMT), Trigger Point Acupuncture, Integrative Medicine, Hospice/Palliative Care and medical care for LGBT patients.
Dr. Stevens received her Medical Degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and served her Internship and Residency at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI. She is board certified by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
In her spare time Dr. Stevens enjoys may recreational and artistic pursuits. Her favorites are camping, travelling, geocaching, beachcombing, genealogy, painting, drawing, crafting with polymer clay, playing her guitar, banjo and tin whistle and following CMU Women’s Basketball, Softball and MSU football and basketball.
Julie Carman, RN- Care Manager
Julie Carman RN, is a Register Nurse with Prism Primary Care. She is our newest member and she is our Patient Care Manager. She will be providing comprehensive care and education to aid in those with chronic conditions to better manage and improve your health.
“I am excited to start my journey with Prism Primary Care and excited to be a part of this community, providing patients with education, support, and coordinating their health care needs, to enhance their lives and to make it easier while living with a chronic condition. “ Julie stated.
Julie received her degree in nursing with Montcalm Community College and a high school graduated from Ithaca High School.
Julie is a life-long resident of Ithaca, has one child and has been married for 9 years. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, swimming, spending time at the lake and spending time with family and friends.
